Esther Davidovits was born in Remete, Romania in 1930. In April of 1944, Esther was sent to the ghetto of Tecso, before being deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau a month later. In September of 1944, she was transported to the Stutthof concentration camp. Esther was liberated in March of 1945. She returned to Remete and married a childhood friend, Itzik. The 2 lived in Czechoslovakia until 1949, when they moved to Austria. Esther and Itzik raised their first 2 children, Isi and Sam, in Austria before immigrating to Toronto, Canada in March of 1951. To this day, Esther still lives in Toronto.
