Babey Widutschinsky was born in Siauliai, Lithuania in 1924. Babey went from the ghetto in Siauliai to the concentration camps of Stutthof and Bergen-Belson. She went through all of this with her sister, Dora. After the war, Babey lived in the Bergen-Belson displaced persons camp where she met her husband, Paul Trepman in 1946. In 1948, the 2 immigrated to Montreal, Canada. She wrote Every Living Minute, which became apart of Before All Memory is Lost: Women’s Voices From the Holocaust. In Montreal, Babey became a kindergarten teacher, she was also an avid folk dancer, reader and traveler. She had 2 children and 6 grandchildren before dying on June 7, 2009.
