Miklos Friedman (Michael Mason) was born in Beregzsasz, Czechoslovakia in 1928. When the Germans invaded Hungary, which was where he was living at this time, Miklos went to ghettos, forced labor camps and eventually the death camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau. In 1948 after the war, Milkos changed his last name to Moskovits so that he could immigrate to Canada. Later on he changed his name to Michael Mason due to the antisemitism involved in hiring practices. In 1973, Michael became a denturist in Toronto, which is where he still lives to this day.
