Sam Weisberg was born in 1927 in Chorzow, Poland. He was taken to the Krakow ghetto along with concentration camps including Plaszow in 1943. In Plaszow, he worked as the commandments house boy, a very risky position in the camp. After being liberated, Sam lived in the Bergen-Belson displaced persons camp before immigrating to Toronto with his wife Rosa in 1959. He went on the write Carry the Torch which parallels with Johnny Jablon’s A Lasting Legacy.
