Anna Molnar Hegedus was born in Szatmar, Hungary in 1897. Before the war, Anna lived with her husband, Zoltan, and her 2 children, Janos and Agnes. She was taken to Auschwitz with her daughter in 1944 when Hungary went under Nazi control. After the war Anna moved to Israel in 1950 and then to Montreal, Canada in 1952. She became a neonatal nurse, staying with newborns and their mothers from weeks to months, oftentimes keeping relationships with those families. She died in 1979.
