Six Lost Years

Amek Adler was born on April 20, 1928 in Lublin, Poland but he grew up in Lodz. He went through the ghettos of Lodz and Warsaw before going through 3 concentration camps, Radom, Natzweiler and Dachau. Amek was liberated on April 28, 1945 and he spent time in Italy and Sweden after the war before permanately settling in Canada in 1954. He and his family built a new life for themselves and Amek was determined to embrace all of the oppurtunities that freedom offers. He got involved in the fur industry and jewellery business in Toronto. He died on April 25, 2017 while is Saskatchewan while sharing his story.
